Share A Smile, Chisom, and Bigi Touch 1000 Lives in Makoko!
On June 24th, Rite Foods’ Bigi carbonated soft drink brand made a heartwarming contribution to society by feeding about 1,000 underprivileged kids in Makoko, a riverside community in the outskirts of Lagos. We partnered with Chisom, a former contestant on Nigerian Idol and a member of the Share A Smile Initiative whose aim is to bring joy and nourishment to underprivileged individuals.
The “Share A Smile Slum Food Outreach” project operated successfully in the Ijora neighborhood of Lagos before recently extending its reach to Makoko, another area with a significant number of underprivileged residents.
During the event, Chisom put up a captivating performance, and the children were overjoyed as they sang along to Johnny Drille’s “How Are You, My Friend?” The children were given food and drinks that kept them happy and content throughout the show, a gesture that resonates with Bigi brand’s commitment to their well-being.

But that’s not all! Bigi made sure the live shows were an absolute blast for attendees. They set up a life-sized chiller, allowing fans to cool off with their favorite Bigi drinks and capture the memories with fun photos. The interactive booth was a hit, and fans couldn’t resist queuing up to engage with the brand, walking away with fantastic gift packs.
Past winners Kingdom Kroseide and Progress took the stage and spiced up the Nigerian Idol Show at Ikeja Shopping Mall, Lagos and celebrated Father’s Day. Kingdom wowed the crowd with his mind-blowing debut single, “My Father’s Got It All,” while Progress had everyone dancing to his amazing rendition of Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up.”
The online engagement with viewers further fueled the show’s excitement, with everyone applauding Bigi for its dedication to promoting entertainment and supporting the Nigerian creative industry. Bigi Idol’s third edition rocked Nigeria with 150+ talented entries! Judges Kingdom Kroseide, singer, songwriter, vocal coach; Abiodun Arogunmaya, musicologist, music director and artist; and Olufisayo Odebode, singer, songwriter & music business executive, chose the top 3: Jay Davids snagged 250,000 naira, Jude Oguchi 150,000 naira, and Dorcas Luka 100,000 naira! The winners were announced at the live show finale.

As the Nigerian Idol Season 8 came to a thrilling conclusion, the top three contestants, Victory Gbakara, Quest, and Precious Mac, were treated to a free shopping spree at the Ikeja City Mall. Victory went big with a 50-inch Nexus Smart TV, a 16-inch Lontor rechargeable fan, a big-size Ottimo brand blender, and a Platinum can opener.
