RITE FOODS LIMITED’S FOOD, DRINKS AND HER: A CELEBRATION OF THE WOMAN
International women’s day is annually celebrated on March 8 to commemorate the achievements of women throughout history and across the nation. All through the month of March, there is always a buzz of celebration in the air to acknowledge the varying unique characteristics and strengths of a woman. This year’s celebration is not any different excluding the fact that the theme varies every year.
For the year 2019, the theme “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change”, ran with the hashtag #balanceforbetter on social media.
This year, the conversation across the globe is to further express the need to understand gender equality. Many companies and organizations find this as an opportunity to contribute their quota to the society in the aspect of humanism. This celebration comes in different forms depending on the kind of organization and what they have in mind.
For us at Rite Foods Limited, it was another opportunity to give back to society. As a result, in celebrating the unique strengths of the feminine gender, we organized our first ever event: Food, Drinks and Her. Food, Drinks and Her aka FDH2019 held on the 30th of March at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos. The event which was a mix of exhibition, panelist discussions, guest appearances, and after-party started around 9 am till late in the night.
The event was indeed a platform where not just women but men of different ages had the opportunity to learn, network and above all, have a lot of fun. There were two panelist sessions where great women in different genres of business dished out undiluted tips on being successful in a chosen career. There were also about 35 exhibitors around at the event to showcase their different products in the food and drink sector.
The energy and excitement throughout the event remained high, and all in attendance had many wonderful things to say and take home with. How could anybody have any contrary experience when every tummy was filled and every body’s senses were activated on every level? With all expectations met, and many hoping for a repeat of a gathering like it again.
At Rite Foods Limited, we are forever committed to building our community.

It is not just our culture to find good deeds and reward them but we are passionate about people who strive to do good when they don’t need to.

Ugochukwu Ibere, who had faced his own fair share of hardship and injustice, found it in his heart to give aid to convicts being transported to Ikoyi prison, it was in his selfless act that he was spotted and his picture shared on social media drew our attention, his humanitarian service and deep level of empathy touched our hearts and we were moved to empower him for his immeasurable act of kindness.
We are confident in his prospect of being extremely successful because he has shown dedication to everything he has committed himself to.

RITE FOODS TAKES OVER THE STREETS OF LAGOS
With the arrival of the month of February comes the intense feeling to show love. However, of recent, it has been discovered that showing of love does not necessarily mean giving of gifts. Sometimes, it’s the length we go to make people happy that matters. Doing the littlest thing could mean a lot. The effort might be little but it sure gladdens the heart to know someone is thinking about you.
Rite Foods Limited has thought it wise to show love in the little way they can by appreciating the efforts of those that are always on their toes to make sure there is little or no traffic jam in some areas in Lagos. Rite Foods staff took over the job of traffic wardens for few hours while they got refreshed with the Rite Foods gift packs containing Rite Foods range of products.
In addition to that, Fearless roller skaters engaged with people during traffic hours at the same location. The roller skaters gave out Fearless Energy Drinks to commuters in traffic and did a really nice job. This simple show of love put smiles on the faces of those they came in contact with.
Rite Foods Limited has shown that love is not just about romance. Sometimes, it’s about community service and they sure did a great job showcasing that. Of a truth, they have in them the proudly Nigerian spirit by being their brother’s keeper.
BBC News Worldwide features Rite Foods Limited in new series “In Business Africa”
It is a well known fact that for businesses in Nigeria to thrive, there are factors that can choke or wither the growth of the business. These factors range from power to government policies and various economic instabilities.
Amidst all that, Rite Foods Limited incorporated in 2008, has since been one out of many Nigerian owned businesses that have proven to stand out against all odds. It is not surprising therefore, that in just few years of being in business; the company has almost overtaken giants in their line of business.
As a result of this outstanding success, the BBC crew considered Rite Foods Limited among many other African brands that has succeeded in harsh economic climates to stand out in order to manufacture products that are best qualities and internationally acceptable.
In the Interview with the Managing Director of Rite Foods Limited, Mr. Seleem Adegunwa, he pointed out two major hurdles that every Manufacturer in Nigeria would face. He said:
“Everything is a challenge. You have to produce the power [to run the plant] yourself, because you’re not on the grid”
And there is the hurdle of gaining access to markets.
Commenting about the acceptance of Nigerian Made products, he said:
“If anything, being a Nigerian-owned brand initially would almost (wanted to) become a negative, because people think that what is produced locally just can’t be as good, but what we’ve been able to do in the last 28 months is to show that no, actually you can be a proudly 100% Nigerian brand and still be able to make products that are extremely World Class”.
His position about market penetration and competing with multinational companies that are very well financed, he had this to say
“In terms of the multinationals it was a non-issue because we knew we were going to come to the table with a facility and a product that will be able to stand shoulder to shoulder, if not actually surpass what they do”.
Evidently, Rite Foods Limited has proven to be truly World Class and 100% proudly Nigerian.
