Fearless Gaming Tournament Grand Finale
The culmination of the Fearless gaming tour ended at the Unilag Sport complex on the 15th and 16th of December. Gamers from 5 states in the country assembled for the final show down, to be the Top gamer in the 2018 Fearless Gaming Tournament.
The game featured included: FIFA 19, Mortal Kombat X, Tekken, and Street Fighters. The first day was a workshop that included activities such as cosplay, animation, and app development training. The Fearless Energy Team engaged spectators and audience in Strength and Endurance games such as Arm Wrestling and Push Ups, while some showed immense strength some obviously had been taking enough energy drinks and with the crowd cheering them on the participants continued whatever program they were asked to do beyond what they are used to.
One would think that only guys would turn up for this sort of engagement but the ladies wanted a piece of the action too, these women demanded to be included in the games that whatever is good for the goose is good for the gander and so they took part in the Strength and endurance games, talk about women of steel. The ladies really showed their Fearless side.

ABUJA FEARLESS GAMING TOURNAMENT
The world of video gaming has taken a new leap, Soccer video game isn’t just about pretending to be Cristiano Ronaldo or Pep Guardiola: some of these take a strikingly original approach to the beautiful game especially on the new FIFA 18.
In Nigeria, Fearless Energy Drinks in partnership with Titeboi Entertainment has taken tournaments for eSports to another level, the Fearless Gaming Tournament encourages gamers and aspiring gamers from major cities in Nigeria to compete at the qualifying stages. This time, it was at the Jabi Lake Mall Abuja.
At the tournament, FIFA 18, was the main game played as a face off. The side attractions includes other games like Street Fighter and Virtual Reality. The gamers played with passion, tactics and skills to ensure they could win and qualify for the grand finale.
The game was a tough one as all gamers played champs with their control pads and Fearless Energy Drink by the side. With FIFA 18, games were more fluid, natural and, perhaps most importantly, unpredictable. A new animation system sees the ball bouncing and bobbling in a more realistic fashion, while players will move and shape their bodies in a host of different ways that opens up options in both attack and defence.
After several hours of game rounds, the numbers dropped and tension increased but thanks to Fearless Energy Drink, each gamer had one to refresh and calm the nerves.
Over a 100 gaming enthusiasts were in attendance but Chikezie Okoli bagged the 1st Position after the fearless rounds. The 2nd position went to Fagbemi Ayotunde while Nwanchukwu Okezie got the 3rd position.

In all, it was a tough one as all gamers played amazingly well with their control pads.
As the games approached the grand finale, it got tougher with lots of gamers dropping out as they could not make it to the final round. Their initial confidence failing them, one of the gamers that didn’t make it to the round said: “I can’t believe I froze and didn’t even make it to the final round, I feel so disappointed because I thought I was ready”.
Overall, the mini tournament was fun to some gamers and heartbreaking to others who didn’t qualify for the grand finale.

Video gaming in Nigeria has taken a new turn, in the last decade, compared to the early 90’s where the majority of Nigerian parents actually chastised their wards from anything gaming considering it a total waste of time. Tekken and Street Fighters were not the only games played at the Naija Fighters Connect. Other games featured were Mortal Kombat 9, Mortal Kombat XL, Frozen, Sonic car race, FIFA 18 and PES.
